Did you know that you can count the rings on a tree stump and find out how old that tree is? If we were to make a graph of this relationship, what would the independent variable be? What would the dependent variable be? And how do these two ideas correlate?

Do you climb a lot of stairs throughout your day? What do you think of when you take the stairs? Maybe about how you wished that there was an elevator instead? Well, I sometimes think about the math that goes with climbing all those stairs! Can you graph a relationship between the height of your head over the period of time that it takes to walk up all those stairs? Try it!
